The
cats like to help in the garden too. When
you visit us You will notice my vegetable garden in the
front of our house, I missed my vegetable garden soo much we
had to move it so the cattery could be built in its place -
I just had to have another, I figure most people drive past
our house at 100KMS they won't beable to tell it's veges not
flowers.
Abbey is very active in the cattery - she
helps with the delivery - can tell apart kittens &
remember their names. Abbey has a keen eye for a good show
cat & maybe one day might train to be a judge. Abbey
enjoys routine & likes to set the cattery up her way.
She is a big help with the day to day care of the cats
& kittens and enjoys spending time with each one.
Abbey
is a wizz at the web design - Hopefully she will get to my
pages I have errors on & fix them for me!

James
also enjoys our cattery - and is a big helper - doesn't
particularly
enjoy the birthing process but happy to email
& text waiting owners of what the mother cat has had.
James is very much an out door boy &
when Brent is home is his shadow - he has helped Brent build
the cattery and hopes to be a chippie one day..

Photo
of James making an eel trap with Brent.
He
has confused many children who come to visit their kitten
with his "long hair lout look" one wee girl asked
Abbey after being told James was a boy. "Can you tell
me if you are a boy or a girl, I can not tell" James
likes to play the guitar so the long hair look is cool you
know for rock stars.
James
enjoys the many animals we have - especially his rabbit
& girls (hens) he is a big help with the sheep - being
their Shepard
& trained them to follow him - he calls
this Slaughter school as every once in a while the follow
the leader brings them in for shearing or to meet the
butcher.
Mack the Mastiff. Well he has been a handful! But
thankfully has grown out of the puppy & teenage stage!
We had always had Dobermans before - and people said
Dobies were a handful - in my experience nothing compared
to a Mastiff - he is Brent's dog and very good at keep ferrel
cats away and uninvited humans!
Molly
our goat is well loved by everyone - she was from Lindale
as one of their young petting goats. Only problem is she
loves my & the neighbours roses!
We
raise coloured
sheep in the beginning we named them roast lamb, lamb
chops, woolly ragwort etc knowing they were going in the pot
at some stage. But I'd strongly recommend you not do this!
James had great delight informing us we are eating Mamma
& even my appetite
went! Our sheep have a good life
while they are with us & we are proud to feed our
family & pets on food with no hormones etc - we know
what the sheep have been eating & everything is used!
Manure for compost & we plan on keeping coloured wool
for spinning & knitting.
We
have had many tears over our chickens - from cracking an egg
with an eyeball looking at you to raising all the chicks
hoping for hens - but getting roosters. James now has Rhode
Island reds and we will get a pedigree rooster when Rory
passes. But Rory the rooster has a forever home here with
us! (hint have neighbour troubles buy a rooster - a for sale
sign will go up the next day!)
We also have Clyde James's rabbit, doves,
& ducks plus the pleasure of alpaca's & a horse from
the neighbours' paddocks.
We have a new addition to the family
Brent was in a car accident & sadly wrote off PO,
thankfully he was ok. Brent knew I always wanted a VW so he
brought me Buggley - now to stop cat footprints!
- A Good Life!
