From time to time we have Retired Queens available - they are much loved members of our family & this is one part of breeding we do not enjoy.  If you would like a special MandaBurm, happy to stay in contact with us, usually live semi rural & have no other cats or dogs - please contact us.

More information on Retired Queens page.

A Big THANK YOU

To all MandaBurms owners whom love their MandaBurms kittens & are spreading the word...
We have a waiting list for kittens - as Brent says

"Good things are worth waiting for" giggle.

You have also introduced our kittens to your vets.

I get a BIG BUZZ when a vet calls me & wants a MandaBurms for their own home. Same as when vets are recommending to their clients to go on our waiting list- we even have a vet in Auckland who gets their clients to contact us.

So thank you to everyone who loves their MandaBurms kitty  & tells everyone

To have a MandaBurms kitten join your family, we do recommend you go on our waiting list.

Sire: GOLD Double Grand Champion MandaBurms LOTR Black Rider

Lordy  (Ebony Mandalay 37)

&

  Dam: MandaBurms Laura

Laura (Seal Burmese 27)

Laura is one of my favourite cats, she will be having one more litter after this (I hope) we will keep a kitten from her & then sadly she will be looking for a new home (end 2010). I would love to keep her as a pet but she is  pretty quick to pick a rumble with the other cats & dog! SIGH She will suit a home with no other cats or dogs. Someone who likes to be in doors as Laura is known here as House Pussy, she is hilarious & will run to get inside rather than be outdoors. She is an awesome cat & deserves a brilliant retirement home where she doesn't have to be in a cattery. She needs a life of lying in the sun, in front of fire & in a bed & someone who doesn't leave bread on bench - as she makes a bee line for bread - even though he knows she is not allowed on the bench.

Laura is due 20 January 2010

kittens available to new homes from week of 27th April

Sorry all adopted

KITTENS are $500.00 per kitten

This includes their first vaccination

In ADDITION & what WE RECOMMEND with the discount rate our vet gives us.

DE SEXING - Females $85.00

DE SEXING - Males $50.00

OPTIONAL

MICROCHIPPING $35.00

PICK OF THE LITTER $150.00-

this option is ideal if you wish a kitten for showing - I will do my very best to help you choose - best time to pick is around 8-12 weeks. Not every litter has a winning show quality kitten in the litter you may have to wait a litter or two. I will also assist you in the show world.

SECOND VACCINATION $50.00 and removal of stitches (kitten will stay with us until 12 weeks)

AIR NZ TRAVEL $97.30 North Island

$170.30 South Island.

I do not charge to take the kittens to the airport if you are happy to work around my family life - I have found it always works out for both parties. Kittens travel fine up & down the country - I prefer not to export kittens to other countries.

(NB prices are subject to change

Vet has advised me vacination has gone up, as has the food, desexing & microchipping is also going up. We do wish to keep MandaBurms kittens as affordable for all.)

Desexing & Vaccinations needs to be done and we have negotiated with our vet to enable passing these discounts onto  our kittens owners.  With us doing it for you before you collect your kitten we save you the anxiety & hassel and a vet bill. You will then only need to visit your vet again in one years time for an annual vaccination and there after every two years.

MandaBurms Kittens are raised in our home with our family so they are well use to family life e.g. Shower, toilet flushing, washing machine, TV and of course children & their noise. At approx seven weeks the kittens & mother move to the cattery - we find they enjoy this as there is lots more room to play & socialise. We are home most of the day & our  kittens/cats are accustomed to lots of human contact. Burmese & Mandalay's love company & attention, if you are away from home a lot we suggest getting two for companionship

All our kittens are well handled not just by us but also visitors & the children's friends this ensures MandaBurms kittens are confident and social when they arrive in their new home. Feedback is the kittens do not fret for their kitten home & often just assume boss- we have done our job well.

Kittens  come de-sexed and fully house trained. We do not litter train our kittens in saw dust - from early experience we found out they would also use the fire wood box (gross) so we do not penny pinch - we use Kitty Litter that is readily available - plus we fully wash all litter trays through out the day. Cats are clean by nature and they like clean litter trays!

Our Kittens are Vet checked twice before they leave (we are happy to give written approval for your vet to see all our veterinary records), wormed and had their first vaccination. Along with a kitten pack of food they have been use to eating and a comprehensive information sheet and a five generation pedigree history and three generation photo pedigree .

They have a manicure before they leave us and we  are happy to show you how to care for their nails - i.e. trim them so their claws do the least damage on you & the furniture from playing.

We welcome you to visit & meet the kittens (about 6-8 weeks old is a good time) & parents and you get weekly updates of the kittens growing including photos -  Hardest part is getting good photos of kittens being still for a moment.

Our kittens are sold as pets only.

We do not sell any of our kittens in pet shops. One of the joys of breeding for us is knowing our kittens are going to good homes that we have approved & met the new owners.

As breeding is our hobby we do reserve the right to choose our owners.

Abbey & James, our children name each litter after a book they are reading you are welcome to change the kittens name (as long as a kitten has not been named the same name before)  but you do need to let us know before or shortly after the kittens leave us

MandaBurms Cattery are animal lovers and pride ourselves in raising the standard of NZ animal breeders. Sadly not all breeders have excellent housing facilities or healthy pampered animals.

We do not agree with line breeding or in breeding - eg mating a Grandfather with a granddaughter. Our breeding program is set up so no in breeding happens - all our girls can breed with our stud - Lordy and are not related. This gives us a greater gene pool - and healthier cats/kittens.

If you are buying off a breeder please before you buy see as much of the breeders cattery first not just what the breeder wants you to see. Check to see if they line breed - see the kittens pedigree.

Check that the adult cats are housed in clean, warm and stimulating enviroment. The units are clean and smell free (stud cats do have their own aftershave!)

Ask what food the cats are being fed which should be a  diet of fresh meat & vet/pet shop quality dry food.

All cats & kittens should be free from runny eyes, sneezing, fleas, ear mites or loose, smelly stools. They should also be confident and out going when you meet them.

MandaBurms Cattery is happy to give new owners  written approval for your vet to see all our veterinary records (Your vet may charge you for his/her time)

And never  buy FROM A PET SHOP as you will have no way of knowing where your kitten has come from let alone what sort of a start it has had!

You too can help raise the standard of NZ animal breeders by only purchasing off a breeder who has  high standards of facilities and care for their breeding animals.
