Hi,
Just
thought I would send you a quick email to let you
know that Pipi is all settled in and everything is
going well. She is definitely very
entertaining and has a bit of a naughty streak which
makes life pretty interesting. It seems she
arrived just at the right time too… my 13 year old
burmese cat who lived with my Mum and Dad in the
Hawkes Bay was diagnosed with cancer and had to be
put down during the first week I had Pipi; she
definitely made it a little easier to cope with the
news.
Anyway, have attached a few pics of her.
Take care and again, another big thanks from
James and I for letting us purchase one of your
mandaburms babies.

Hi
Leanne
Just
to let you that the kitten has really settled in
well. As you can see in the picture, she has
made a real impression on our older Burmese.
In fact, it is like having two kittens in the house.

Hi Leanne
Just to let you know
how our wee kitten is going...she is just adorable
and goes from being a hyperactive looney to the
most cuddly sleepy kitten in a space of 5 minutes.
Within a week she has got us all wrapped around
her wee paws...has been in all the rooms I said
she wasn't allowed!!!!! Runs up the stairs and
back hyperactively. She is just the most
gorgeous kitten we could have asked for....Kelsey
has a craft box of ribbons and Lila has
managed to pinch quite a few and shred them but
Kelsey is not too worried amazingly enough, she
has Ross putting a sheepskin blanket(an old baby
one) in the sun in the family room window to sleep
on during the day!! Thank you sooo much
for allowing us to have this wee darling and we
will give you updates and photos. She had her
de-sexing stitch out today.. Amelia said that
although I am a Theatre Nurse I am not allowed to
take it out as I am not a vet!! Vaccination booked
for Monday.
Cheers

Dear
Leanne
We named our little princess
"Minx" also known as Coco Chanel when on
best behaviour, However approriately living up to
her name "Minx" as she always wins us over
with her intelligence and charm. So happy with our
"Minx". I would like to thank you &
Abbey for your re assurance through the decision
making process. She is growing into an attractive
young cat with a star, yet cheeky personality, and
boy are those Burmese clever or what? Our very own
mini puppy. In a good routine now (those first few
weeks early mornings wake ups) she is well adjusted
and really a chip off the old block. Enjoying
quality human edible vege & fillet meals as well
as only particular types of wet food. She did
receive her very first (and I hope only) bee sting
yesterday. She leaps & moves like a stealth,
will have to watch her with those native birds. Will
have to attatch a bell to an outside collar, as she
doesn't like them.
She is adored, and loved. I think
one of the luckiest cats to have found us. Such
trust and a communication between cat & human.

Minx (Elizabeth) was a tiny wee kitten but
with time she has caught up.

Hi Leanne
Well the kitties have settled in really well,
even with the dog, last night the Sam (as per
James'
naming) and Tinkerbell is named Sydney or Syd for
short in our house, were
asleep
on my fleecey jacket on the bed, and Maya was asleep
on the otherside of the
bed,
they looked so cute. They also think playing in the
bath attacking each other is
great
fun!
Syd is funny as she has been the one that has
been making growling sounds at Maya,
and
hissing, whereas Sam just ignores her for the most
part.
They are getting the run of the house slowly, and
on the weekend they will get their first
taste
of the outside world.
I have attached a couple of pics of them from
last night (Tuesday), feel free to add them
to
your website. The contrast in the bath is very good.
Best wishes

Hi Leanne,
Just a quick update - the boys have grown fast -
Tom is the first photo and Ned
the second.Photos were taken today - to get both of
them in one photo and looking
at me is impossible!! They do EVERYTHING together -
yes even get into trouble
together!! Learning to climb trees has been
entertaining - no problem for
Ned to get up and down, but Tom... Up no problem but
down - he kept trying it head
first - a bit of a problem 10ft up a cabbage tree!!
They are booked in with Mary (the Vet)next
Saturday (7th April) to have their
"bits" removed - we've been a couple of
times already. Obviously first time
for second vaccinations and she couldn't get over
how relaxed they were. She had
trouble listening to their hearts because they were
both purring so much. Other
visit has been for what she terms dietary indiscretion
- they chew anything....insects, leaves, bugs to
name a few and we had a short
bout of the runs because of it!! As you can gather
they love the outdoors and
they were very annoyed that I wouldn't allow them
out during the rain this week,
but they are making up for it today. They have
also introduced themselves to a
number of people in the park that borders our
property - whoops I've just heard a crash in the
kitchen - better see what they
are destroying now.
I'll send more pictures later.
Thanks
Sandy
Hi
Yes they have REEAAALLY grown - we've been a
couple more times to the vet
since desexing.....Tom had trouble with getting down
from a tree....xrays etc but
it was just a bad sprain (thank god) so the vet
has a very good measurement of his
weight growth!!!! There is now very
little between them... although in Mary's words (the
vet) Tom is going to be a very
big boy ( Mac truck version) and Ned.... well he
didn't need x-rays but he is the
"refined" version. We have to go once
more at the end of May for next vaccination and she
said she would be disappointed
that she won't need to see them for another year
- she really loves them... they are so relaxed with
the cage/travel/vet thing -
always purring!!! She loves their temperament.

Hi
Leanne!!
I thought I would share some photos of Monte &
Carlo
Carlo is settling in really well. They play all the
time, and I let Carlo out during the day if I’m
home for a couple of hours so he can run around. Had
him on a kitten leash for a few weeks just to keep
him safe.
Carlo is naughty and claws the curtains we have had
to spray him lots! He’s getting better though.
Monte was really upset for a good 2 weeks, he played
with Carlo lots, but didn’t give us any cuddles
and never purred. But hes back to his normal
affectionate self now J
Enjoy
the photos, we love the cats.

HI
Leanne
Emailing
you has been on my list of things to do for several
days!!
They
are fine, after the initial vomiting episode –
thanks for phoning back. We did as you suggested and
stuck to dry food the rest of that day and the next
morning, and since then everything has been fine.
When we first arrived home they were very
tentative and explored very slowly. However before
long they were playing chasing and climbing up
curtains – we have a water pistol and it seems to
work – we have to be on the ball and ready with it
though. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeee (that was a kitten climbing
on me and the keyboard!
They are sleeping in the laundry in their
basket (although often I find them in the washing
basket!!). We had a great few days with them until
we all disappeared to school and work, but they seem
to be coping fine. Pooing and weeing fine. They
haven’t got the run of the whole house yet –
just going slowly extending room by room – they
just love exploring and we have a big house so I can
see that sometimes it might be hard to locate them.
They
are very playful – but also will sit and cuddle
and purr depending on their mood - and the boys just
love them to bits.
We
had a bit of a saga over names. Everyone had
different favourites so in the end the boys
organized a draw. (Bonnie was favoured to stay
Bonnie by some of us!). However we have ended up
with Min (for Bonnie) and Diego (for Charles). A
rather weird combination but we have stuck with the
results of the “draw”!!
They are just delightful.
Thank
you so much.
They
are now both climbing on me better go!

Leanne Here : - Yes we are a
phone call away if ever you are concerned about your
kitten - things happen! It is really important to
not change a kittens diet too quickly they have
tummy upsets just like toddlers.
Hello Leanne,
sorry photo isnt fab im not very good with the
camera!! Felix our son and heir
is thriving He is the most adorable cat in the
world! as he is such an unbelievable
sook, its almost as if he is on happy drugs! His
favourite mode is to sit in
your arms like a baby he will sit there until your
arms get tired!
We have a hectare of land and now
have sheep along with our
chickens..in fact Felix new hobby is to sit under
the trees watching the sheep,
or pace up and down outside the rabbits run! or to
glare at the chickens from the top of
their nesting box!!! Rich has wangled only
working three days a week and i have job just down
the road we are trying to calm
our lives!! But something is missing!!! we thought
it was another dog..but have
gone off the idea! we adore our whippet too much and
getting a dog to fit in with our cats
is impossible all dogs seem to want to eat
cats..and our cats are our children! the whippet
understands this and knows she
is failry low in the pecking order So wed like to
add to our cat collection!-
Will you only be having ebony mandalays in your next
litter? if i got another black
cat how could i tell them apart!!!? and do you think
another male would be ok? Stich and
Felix still argy bargy occasionally but they
unite against our old girl moggy! luckily she
ignores them her overiding
desire is cat biccies! Felix stays on the bed and
Stich the cream burmese gets
in! so they have it sorted now! anyway
I hope that youd consider us for another mandaburm,
Felix has the most amazing
nature that i believe is a product of his wonderful
dad and being raised in your
family, nothing fazes him, and he has mountains of
love to give out, plus he is a
stunner to look at and is very warm in bed! will
try and sort out some better photos where he is
looking at the camera!Look
forward to hearing from you
kind regards

Hi
Leanne,
The kittens are doing brilliantly. They didn't
much like the ride home
on Thursday night (there was a little bit of miowing
and a lot of
pawing at the cage door)
but as soon as we got them inside and opened
the cage door they were out
and exploring around. They took to their
sleeping basket almost
immediately and by bedtime that night they were
curled up in it ready to go
to sleep. The next morning they behaved
beautifully - they ate,
then used the dirt box in turn, then played
with each other. They are
absolutely crazy - they run all over the
room and jump on each other
and on us. Pru likes to sit on Vance's
shoulder and watch him work
at the computer. She is absolutely
fearless. Oscar is more
considered, but is very smoochy. He loves
his cuddles. Their favorite
toys are a cardboard box, a brown paper
bag, an envelope screwed up
into a ball, and a piece of string! The
toys from Animates are
mainly ignored (alhtough they do like the
possum tail). We have had
quite a few visitors round to see them and
they have been very
friendly with them all. Next weekend we will try
them out with some kiddies.
They are eating well. . Oscar seems to
eat a little bit more that
Pru but then he is bigger, and by the looks
of his paws he will grow
bigger than Pru.
They are lovely kittens and are beautifully
raised. We'll continue
the good work - they have
already completely taken over the house and
our lives and have
us wrapped around their little claws.
best regards
J and v

Hi Leanne,
We just wanted to give you a quick update on how
Oscar and Prudence are
doing. They are
wonderful cats,Prudence is the feisty one, while
Oscar is a
bit more reserved.
Having said that, Oscar is the "alpha-cat"
as he wins
their fights,
usually becos he is a little bit bigger! They love
to climb to
the tops of our
trees, and chase each other madly around the house
and
section. They're
also turning into good hunters. Oscar has caught a
few
birds, a good size
rat, and a mouse. Prudence had only caught various
insects and bugs
until last week, when she managed a mouse and a bird
on
consecutive days.
Sometimes they have killed their prey, but about
half the
time I'm able to
rescue the bird and set it free with a good story.
The
always
triumphantly bring in their catch and deposit it on
the floor of our
lounge. This is
better than on our bed we suppose!
They sleep in our bed every night, and also have
a basket on top of our
fridge from which
they like to survey the comings and goings of the
house.
They have had a
long time being the centre of our attention but a
couple of
weeks ago have had
to deal with a new baby in the house. However, they
seem
to be taking this
in their stride.
Hope you like the photos - we have literally
hundreds of them, but we especially
like these two. Feel free to use the pics on your
web, but not our names as we'd like to be
anonymous.
Thanks,
Vance and Jodi

Hi Leanne,
Just a quick update on
Molly!
She's definitely grown
up and is not being so immature now! Very
very affectionate and with this cold weather has
been sleeping very close by (and close to pushing
me out the bed!) Has a strange habit of sleeping
on my head however which is slightly uncomfortable
- especially when she's purring and licking my
face! She still brings me things to throw
her during the night so I wake up with pegs and
hairties in my bed. There are no hairties
left in the house and she managed to raid my
flatmates hairtie collection also! My
flatmate is still overseas and Molly still likes
to destroy all her possessions.. I found a novel
the other day with the front cover all chewed up!
My flatmate is back in 2 months so I have some
time to replace everything Molly has destroyed of
hers!
I'm moving in two
weeks to Northland with my current flatmate and my
sister. Going to a huge house which Molly
will love as there is a nice long hallway for her
to race up and down! She's fairly limited to
where she can run in my current place. Still
haven't let her out.. not sure I want to! I
think she wants to go out as she sits and talks to
the birds from the windowsill..
She's also learnt to
jump onto my shoulder for cuddles! It's a
great trick and something I show everyone!
On occasions she does it when I'm not prepared and
if I don't catch her I end up with claw marks all
down my arms! If she's really desperate for
a cuddle, she'll jump up onto my shoulder from the
floor!
She hasn't had that
eye thing again which is good but she's loved at
the vet and they ask my mum how Molly is when mum
takes her cats in!
I bought her a
toothbrush the other day with poultry flavoured
toothpaste! She's so relaxed she lets me
clean her teeth but she likes the toothpaste.
Clipping her claws is the easiest thing in the
world, she just lies on her back while I do them -
no fighting!
Everyone comments on
how shiny and soft she is - she's only eating the
crackers with the occasional meaty dinner - it's
lamb at the moment and the noise she makes when
I'm cooking it is deafening!
She also talks to me
if she's lost her favourite toy - she'll sit by
where it is (generally under the fridge or behind
furniture) and meow as loud as possible until I
get it out for her. She's very smart.. it's
almost scary!
Anyway, that's pretty
much it.
I hope things are
going well for you and that Salem is happy!
Kat.

Dear
Leanne and Abbey,
I thought I'd let you
know I am
having so much fun with Sam and Basil.
They are such good company,
I'm not working at the moment and so I'm getting to
spend loads
of time with them. We took them up to Jaffrays land
up on the East
Coast and they loved the countryside. Chasing
flies,lying on the deck,
going for walks with us.And they didn't mind going
across the river
in the row boat. They are fabulous!!
Hope you're all well,

Dear
Leanne
I wanted to write to you
to let you know that we are absolutely delighted
with Mandu,
short for Kathmandu (was Matt) & Inca (was
Sylvia). It was absolutely
the best thing to have the two of them, they are
best buddies ,even though their play fighting can
appear very aggressive at times.
Mandu is very laid back;
Lucy, who is 6 years old, carries him around
andpicks him up constantly and he doesn't mind at
all. Inca is a real livewire, and although quite a
lot smaller than Mandu, can give as good as she
gets.
We do let them out in
our small garden but only when we are there to keep
an eye
on them.
I have attached some
photos for you to see how they are developing. I
think Mandu
is extremely handsome although we can't work out why
he has such short whiskers
- we don't see Inca nibbling them.
All the best
Tina, Andrew, Lucy &
Harrison
We celebrated our 1st
birthday yesterday! We have recently moved to a new
house which
is quite a lot bigger and we just love having the
extra space to run
around and play hide & seek. There are other
cats around but they seem a friendly
bunch so we haven't been in any fights. Mum &
Dad are off to England
today but we have some lovely people who are moving
in to look after us.
Love from Mandu &
Inca

Hi,
Leanne.
It is great to read about the litter mates of
Charles (Jan.26th 2003) and be going through much
the same things, esp. the climbing up my legs while
I am working. Charles is very strong minded,
extremely confident, and often tests the patience of
our older Burmese male. I think he wants to be boss.
Everything is 120%. Have also been carefully
initiating him to the outdoors and today he went out
on his own for a while and raced everywhere flat out
(as he does in the house), esp. under the house. He
deeply resented having to come in. He constantly
challenges the older cat so have to give them both'
quiet time'. He is a great retriever, following in
the tradition of a couple of my Burmese in the past,
has a loud voice and purr, and loves some TV
programmes, standing up at the screen to watch them.
Of course, chatters at birds, and even eyes planes
high in the sky. I think we will have our work cut
out for us....he discovered the inside of our bed on
the second day and believes it was put there for
him! And he knows what door handles are for and
tries his paws at them for long periods when we shut
him in.
I love the regular updating of your website, and the
wonderful photo's. It is lovely to watch the others
too.
(Unknown
to us and most unusually, one of our 2 little
darlings let a large live rat go upstairs in our
bedroom sometime yesterday, and then tried to
pretend he hadn’t, it was the other
brother. Pete and I had a nightmare of a night, all
night, trying to trap it. Both were quite interested
in that….without us knowing at the time, it had
got up in through the back of our rimu chest into a
clothes drawer and had eaten its way through some of
my most loved scarves!!!!!! I am furious. THE
BURMESE BOYS ARE IN TOTAL DISGRACE. I can’t
believe I am even thinking I want another
one.)
Hullo to Abbey also. Regards to all.

Hi this is

progress report on how Ella and Olly have settled
in.
- they have
grown heaps.
- they seem to
be eating very well.
- they don't
mind being handled.
- when we are
not there they seem to be doing fine.
- we have
taken them outside.
- when they
are playing it seems to be quite rough.
- we have had
no accidents.
- they are
eating lots of nuts.
- they are
getting on to the washing machine.
- they sleep
well.
- they seem to
occasionally run into solid objects.
- we have not
yet taken them to our beach house.
so all round
it is a pleasure having them and they are very
amusing.
ps: we would
all like to see you ,Briar and Lordy sometime.

Dear
Leanne & Co,
Thought
that it was about time that
I dropped you another line
or two ....wouldn't want you
thinking that I had
forgotten you. Mum also
thought thatyou might like a
couple of photo's of me so
you can see how much I have
grown.
I
am well and truly settled
here now and have I got the
other two girls
sorted
out. Didn't take me too long
to let them know who was
going to be 'the
boss'.
Mum
has been wondering how my
sister's are doing .... she
did tell me briefly
about them. Gosh!! I'm sure
glad that I have turned out
for the better
'cos mum and dad might have
given me back and I might
not be living the
life of riley like I do now.
I
was just a tiny bit naughty
tonight and even mum got mad
with me. Mum hadcooked a
lovely leg of pork for
dinner and boy! it sure
smelt good!! When
mum
wasn't looking for a very
brief moment,I decided to
inspect the meat a little
bit closer. I got such a
fright when mum returned to
the kitchen to find
'moi' nibbling ever so
carefully on a corner.
Didn't think she would
mind
sharing just a wee bit!! I'm
even getting used to the
water that mum
and
dad squirt me with when I
accidently jump onto the
kitchen bench.
Anyway
.... hope that you like the
photo's of me. This one with
my big sister
Tilly.
Hope
to hear from you soon.

of love,

Hi
Leanne
An amusing incident the
other day when we got home
after 4 hours to find them
chasing leaves up the drive
in the breeze (they hadn’t
really been outside before).
They’d managed to find and
step on an old remote garage
door opener on a shelf to
let them selves out!
Not only that, they’d also
managed to turn on both the
TV and stereo with the
remotes as well. Quite
the little party during our
absence!!!
I’ll send a picture
through (as soon as their
fur has grown back following
their op)
Regards

Hi
Leanne
This is a progress report on Jack. He is seriously
spoiled by everyone and is very smoochy. He is
absolutely gorgeous and has stopped howling at night
which is a relief, in fact now he goes into the
laundry and hops into his basket just like a puppy
when its time for bed. He tends to climb up my legs
when I'm on the telephone, which can be distracting,
and he is so well house-trained that he hasn't had
one accident so far. I let him out for the first
time yesterday and he doesn't go far and always
comes when I call him, which is a big relief. he had
also grown heaps and I had to let out the collar a
notch this morning, I think he is going to be a big
bruiser rather than a thin skinny Burmese like my
last one.
I think that I made a really good decision to get a
kitten that had been brought up with kids, he loves
them and they adore him.

Dear
Leanne,
As
you can see, Ruby has
settled in very well.
In fact, it only took her
three days to befriend and
charm us all, including
scary and somewhat
dominant Wayan. Now
we are looking forward to
the days when the biting
will stop! She is
wonderfully independent
and plays by herself
happily when Wayan
and Wesley go outside.
The rest of the time Wayan
mothers her and Wesley has
found the playmate he was
longing for. Their games
are very rough and very
energetic. She also
retrieves her toys for us
to throw. Wesley
does that too and we were
wondering if it is a
genetic trait. Ruby
(we kept the name you gave
her) has not been outside
yet, except under very
close supervision.
We think she is too little
and this, along with her
fearlessness, makes her
unsafe. Anyway,
thank you all again
for socializing her so
well. She is a
little treasure.
Warm
regards,
Christine

| Hello
I thought that
you would probably like an update on how your babies
are doing. Photos attached.Sylvia is so gorgeous and
cuddly, he demands to be cuddled and tucks under
your neck. Burma is still the huntress, up trees,
racing around, she has her eye on our lamb at the
moment and keeps biting her, she is a hyperactive
maniac, not very cuddly, she much prefers to sit on
you rather than cuddled up, but she is very pretty
and has us laughing. They sleep with the kids at
night which is cute. We recently bought them a cat
tunnel to play in, which is great for entertainment,
it came complete with catnip balls inside it, which
Sylvie immediately pulled off. They eat like
Trojans, anything and everything - not sure that
toast with peanut butter and jam is good for cats,
but they have that every morning - Sylvie goes mad
over it. They love salmon, meat, rice, in fact
anything but cat food, they don’t do tinned cat
food. They do eat some of the dried food, but only
if there is nothing else. So everything is pretty
good.
Hope you enjoy
the photos.Regards

Hi
Leanne
Just
a quick note to say all is well with Lizzie she is
a dream and get into so much mischief and as
you can see what Rastus does she does or tries to
do she is growing fast and when she is asleep she
sleeps I often have to wake her up to see if she
is still alive she is such a sweetie
although her food is very important to her
especially if it is not hers she helped herself to
some pickets this afternoon even though she
had loads of food in her own plate she is slowly
learning that Rastus is not going to eat all her
food I mix kitten food with adult food and Rastus
is getting fatter as he eats that too well must
close now all the best

Hi Leanne
& Abbey
We thought we'd drop you
a quick line to let you know
that Meg is just fabulous
and has slotted right into
our family as if she had
been with us for
years!!! She is a typical
burmese and basically acts
as if she is our third
child. She will do almost
anything for a shred of
grated cheese! She is
tremendously socialised and
her and our Connor (3 years)
are great mates. As
I type she is curled up next
to him in bed. She
