"Double Grand Champion Brampets Briar Rose"

   (27) Seal Burmese Female

Pet Name: Briar

SIRE: Champion  Kirhiem Sir Tristram (27) Seal Burmese

DAM: Brampets Majirose (27) Seal Burmese

DOB: 04/02/02

Briar is "Queen Bee" and Brent's cat. An excellent mother, Briar will try her hardest to get into another mother cats nesting box & lick the kittens - obviously she feels she does a better job!

Briar has the typical Burmese temperament & feels she is superior to all in the house. She has a very determined attitude , determined she is the boss not us, determined to walk on top of all high furniture & loves to sit up on your shoulder & walk around the house.

When not on heat, Briar is allowed out side to run free & she comes like a dog when called every time. Often bounding from among the sheep & goats. Or down from the Dove coat where she has been sitting waiting for some sport!

Briar has retired from the cat shows, she didn't enjoy being shown & would be quite angry with us!- Shame she did not enjoy being a show girl as she is rather beautiful! We were very fortunate that Briar was our first cat we had ever shown. Briar achieved many best in shows & even Supreme cat.

Briar achieved in her showing career the title Double Grand Champion and is now  a breeding queen, a job she really enjoys.

"MandaBurms Carolyon"

(27) Seal Burmese Female

Pet Name: Caro or Scamp

SIRE: Champion Roellen Dark'n'Stormy (Imp Aust) (27) Seal Burmese

DAM: Double Grand Champion Brampets Briar Rose (27) Seal Burmese

 DOB: 26/01/03

Caro is from Briar's Little House on the Prairie litter and Abbey's cat. We originally chose Laura to keep from that litter but Caro chose us. She has been the only kitten to ever escape from the run, she continually got out and came to sit upon Abbey's schoolwork. As we like naughty pets we had to keep her. (Hence her nickname Scamplion came about - scamp for short)

Caro is personality plus, a very easy going cat, always wanting to play. Fetching balls and playing with soft toys are some of Caro's endearing qualities. You will get sick of fetching before Caro does.  Caro has a funny meow a gruff lionish sound. Caro waits for Brent to shower every morning as he puts his towel around him she jumps onto his shoulder and nuzzles his wet hair while they walk up hallway to bedroom. She sits in the draws, as Brent gets dressed waiting patiently for her shoulder ride back down hallway.

Caro has not been to many shows due to having kittens or Briar; her mum was entered that has the better type look of a Burmese cat. Caro has one more challenge to achieve and she will be a Champion Caro won the Killara Cup at the Burmese Kitten show which was fun as her mum Briar won it in 2002.

"MandaBurms Laura"

(27) Seal Burmese Female

Pet Name: Laura

SIRE: Champion Roellen Dark'n'Stormy (Imp Aust) (27) Seal Burmese

DAM: Double Grand Champion Brampets Briar Rose (27) Seal Burmese

 DOB: 26/01/03

Lara is from Briar's Little House on the Prairie litter . We have always felt real sad at giving Laura up as we had originally chosen Laura for us. But her littermate Carolyon chose us. She kept escaping from the pen & coming inside to sit on Abbey’s schoolwork. Caro has been the only kitten to ever get out of the pen – which is now Lordy’s run. So we kept Caro and reluctantly sent Laura to her new home for breeding.

Some breeders need to move stock on to make way for new generations or breeding lines. Hence we have received Laura Back. Above photo was taken on her first night back home - look at that smile!!.

All our cats are pets before breeding stock & they have a place for life here. – Hence we will not be breeding for ever as we will end up with a lot of old breeding cats one day & our cattery will turn into the geriatric home for our old cats.

We are all very excited to have Laura back in  our cattery.

"Brampets Ebony Cinders"

(37) Ebony Mandalay Female

Pet Name: Cinders, Cindy or

Cindy Lou

SIRE: Brampets Sir Gilbert (27) Seal Burmese

DAM: PurrPaws Jewel of Chataigne (37B/1) Cinnamon Mandalay

DOB: 09/12/2004

Cinders is James' kitten. After Sam died he wanted one just like Sam a "cuddly cat"

Abbey & I went to Auckland Cat show early 2005 and came home with Cinders. Straight away she cuddled down and purred on both our laps. She was quite content to be cuddled.  We didn't tell Brent & James that we were bringing home a kitten. James' face was priceless!

Cinders settled in quickly - Briar produced milk for her even tho pregnant! We had to keep Cinders away as much as possible. Briar had her litter; Caro had just finished hers so Cinders just swapped to be feed off Caro! Not that she needed it but a total opportunist! We tease Cinders that she will be suckling off herself when her own kittens are born! And that has actually happened!

She has a sweet meow "wow, wow, wow here I am! "A good eater not at all fussy!

Cinders has visited Lordy, we anticipate mainly Ebony's but some might carry the cinnamon gene. We personally like the Ebony colour - mm maybe this is to restrict ourselves at not wanting to have too many cats?? Cinders will enable us to have our first Ebony Mandalay Sire & Dam mating for our breeding programme.

sadly she is very wary of strangers –
